In the Fall of 2015 I got sick unexpectedly. Within a few months, my health went from my being able to run a few miles 2-3x a week to barely being able to walk a few feet without passing out or collapsing. I spent a year searching for a diagnosis. In the Fall of 2016, I was passing out 20-30 times a week and was finally diagnosed with POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome).
I had had 3 concussions in two months when we decided a service dog could be my best option. I had searched for a few months, and had been turned down by 3 companies, or told I’d be placed on a 2 year waitlist by two other companies when my husband found Pawsibilities Unleashed. Within about a month and a half of contacting them, Nora was placed in my life.

She’s absolutely been a God-send for me. Once we got used to each other, she started alerting consistently. I’ve never had a bond like this with any dog before. She can be across the room and will jump up at the slightest sign of a potential pass out.
She goes with me absolutely everywhere. She’s prevented countless pass outs as well as concussions. I’ve only had one concussion since I got her and she alerted perfectly beforehand, I just fell right before I could get to a chair. Since I got her, and with new medications, I’m down to 0-2 pass outs a week! With her, I was able to go back to grad school, and get my independence back a little.

She’s there for me no matter the circumstances. She’s the sassiest dog I’ve ever met, and she’s the best dog I’ve ever had ❤️
